This result is a planning aid. Always verify legal limits, vehicle documents, route restrictions and carrier tariffs separately.
What are the main EU driving-time and break limits?
- As a general rule, daily driving is limited to 9 hours and may be extended to 10 hours no more than twice a week. Weekly driving is limited to 56 hours and total driving in any two consecutive weeks to 90 hours.
- After no more than 4.5 hours of driving, take at least a 45-minute break unless a rest period begins. The 45 minutes may be split only in the order of at least 15 minutes followed by at least 30 minutes.
- A regular daily rest is at least 11 hours. It may be reduced to at least 9 hours no more than three times between two weekly rest periods, or a regular daily rest may be split into at least 3 hours followed by at least 9 hours.
- The calculator is a planning aid. Scope exceptions, ferry/train provisions, temporary derogations and other provisions of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006 may matter for a specific trip.
Important: EuroTruckTools shows the general EU planning logic and does not replace tachograph records, an authority’s interpretation or trip-specific exceptions.
