Pallet LDM calculator

Calculate EPAL or custom-pallet LDM, floor positions, total weight, stacking and trailer-space utilisation.

⚠️ Important

This result is a planning aid. Always verify legal limits, vehicle documents, route restrictions and carrier tariffs separately.

How should pallet LDM and pallet load be planned?

  • The nominal planning size of an EPAL EUR 1 pallet is 120×80 cm; EPAL 2 is 120×100 cm; EPAL 6 half pallet is 80×60 cm.
  • EPAL specifies a safe working load of 1,500 kg for EUR 1, 1,250 kg for EPAL 2 and 750 kg for EPAL 6 half. These are pallet-load references, not automatic permission to stack loaded pallets.
  • Stacking reduces the number of floor positions only when the cargo, packaging, height and securing genuinely allow one loaded pallet to be placed safely on another.
  • LDM is a floor-area equivalent, so it does not replace a precise pallet-layout plan inside the trailer.
Important: Standard pallet dimensions and safe working loads are based on EPAL specifications. Always verify the actual loading plan against the cargo and vehicle.
