Pallet & trailer-space calculator
Plan common U.S. pallet sizes, stacking, equivalent linear feet, cubic feet, weight and trailer utilization.
⚠️ Important
Planning aid only. Always verify state and federal rules, permits, vehicle/tire ratings, route restrictions, carrier tariffs and certified scale weights when they apply.
How to plan pallet space in a U.S. trailer
- The common 48 × 40 in GMA pallet is included as a preset, along with other common footprints and a custom option.
- The calculator uses floor area to estimate equivalent trailer length; the exact pallet pattern can require more or less practical space.
- Stacking should only be used when the freight, packaging, pallet and securement plan permit it.
Important: A pallet footprint does not define a universal safe load rating. Use the pallet and cargo manufacturer’s actual rating when weight limits matter.
