Boxes-on-pallet calculator

Estimate boxes per layer and pallet from carton and pallet dimensions, height, weight limits and 90° rotations.

⚠️ Important

This result is a planning aid. Always verify legal limits, vehicle documents, route restrictions and carrier tariffs separately.

How does EuroTruckTools calculate boxes on a pallet?

  • The tool first checks straight and 90°-rotated box layouts, then simple mixed strip patterns that can use remaining pallet-edge space better than one orientation alone.
  • The number of layers is calculated from the maximum total loaded-pallet height after subtracting the pallet’s own height.
  • If box weight and pallet safe working load are entered, the final quantity is limited by weight as well as geometry.
  • Rectangular-box palletising can have more complex optimal patterns, so this quick tool provides a heuristic planning result rather than a guaranteed industrial-palletiser optimum.
Important: Stability, carton compression strength, overhang, stretch film, slip sheets and dynamic transport forces must be assessed separately.
