Trailer space & linear feet
Estimate floor positions, equivalent linear feet, cubic feet, weight and 53-ft trailer-space utilization.
⚠️ Important
Planning aid only. Always verify state and federal rules, permits, vehicle/tire ratings, route restrictions, carrier tariffs and certified scale weights when they apply.
What does “equivalent linear feet” mean?
- This tool converts occupied floor area into an equivalent length using the trailer’s entered inside width.
- Stacking only reduces floor positions when the freight can actually and safely be stacked.
- Many LTL carriers apply their own linear-foot, density, minimum-charge or non-stackable rules, so geometric equivalent linear feet are not automatically billable linear feet.
Important: Use this for trailer-space planning, not as a substitute for a carrier’s tariff or actual loading plan.
