U.S. HOS shift planner
Check a planned property-carrier shift against basic 11-hour, 14-hour, break and 60/70-hour cycle limits.
⚠️ Important
Planning aid only. Always verify state and federal rules, permits, vehicle/tire ratings, route restrictions, carrier tariffs and certified scale weights when they apply.
What this simple shift planner checks
- Driving time is checked against the 11-hour limit and the planned on-duty window against 14 consecutive hours.
- If more than 8 cumulative driving hours would occur without a qualifying 30-minute non-driving interruption, the planner flags it.
- Driving plus other on-duty time is added to the selected 60/7 or 70/8 cycle total.
Important: This simplified planner does not model split sleeper-berth calculations, short-haul exceptions, adverse-driving extensions or every FMCSA exception.
